// How It Works

A structured process. No black boxes.

You know at each stage what is happening, why it is happening, and what comes next. Content auditing work should not feel mysterious - it should feel like a well-organized investigation with clear findings.

// The Engagement Stages

From first conversation
to final deliverable.

1
Discovery Call

Understanding your situation.

You describe your catalog size, your platform, and what you are currently observing in terms of traffic or ranking behavior. This is not a sales conversation. It is a genuine attempt to understand whether this type of work is a good fit for your specific situation.

If the issues you are describing are not primarily content-related, that assessment happens here. No time is wasted on work that will not address the actual problem.

30-45 minute call
2
Access and Setup

Getting what we need to work properly.

Access to Google Search Console is the primary data source. Crawl log files, if available, provide significant additional value. Read-only access to your platform admin helps clarify how product pages are generated.

A brief intake questionnaire covers catalog size, major product categories, known technical configurations, and any previous SEO work that might affect the audit findings. This typically takes your team under an hour to complete.

1-2 days setup
3
Analysis Phase

The actual work of finding problems.

Crawling, data collection, content similarity analysis, and cross-referencing with Search Console coverage data. This is where patterns emerge. Faceted URL clusters. Variant pages with no distinct content. Category pages with near-identical meta data. Filter combinations creating hundreds of thin URLs.

The analysis phase does not produce a final output. It produces a map of the content landscape that the recommendations phase will draw from.

5-10 business days
4
Recommendations Development

Turning findings into a plan.

Each identified issue gets a specific recommendation: canonical implementation, noindex directive, URL consolidation via redirect, content enrichment, or nofollow on internal links pointing to thin pages. The recommendation is tied to a rationale and to implementation guidance.

Recommendations are sequenced by expected impact and implementation effort. You are not left with a flat list and no sense of priority.

5
Delivery and Walkthrough

Handing over a working document.

The final deliverable is a structured report with an executive summary, detailed findings, and an implementation roadmap. A walkthrough session covers the key findings and gives your team a chance to ask questions before implementation begins.

Post-delivery support is available for clarification questions as your development team works through implementation. This is included for a reasonable period after delivery.
